The Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ is in half term but the bishops have asked us to mark the feast with some act of public witness. On Friday 8th June at 1.15pm there will be an outdoor Mass at Pope Paul School (weather permitting!) and then a procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the church for Benediction. The Blessed Sacrament will then remain exposed until 10pm when there will be Compline (Sung Night Prayer) and Benediction. Individuals/groups are asked to sign-up to pray for an hour slot so that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended (at least two people in the church at any time.)
We also need petals for the children to scatter – there will be a box available next weekend.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION SENDING FORTH MASS – 9th June
There will be a thanksgiving Mass on Saturday 9th June at 6pm for all children who have received their First Holy Communion this year. Parents are asked to bring their children to the Parish Hall dressed in their Communion outfits for 5:30pm in order to prepare for Mass. There will be refreshments after Mass in the Parish Hall. Parents are asked to bring along snacks and drinks to share (no nuts please), all are welcome.
We still require some volunteers (highlighted in yellow on the noticeboard) to help out at the Mass, Please sign up or contact Francesca Khaliq. We are specially in need of helpers with the refreshments after Mass, many thanks.
Please be aware that the car park will get very busy during this Mass and you may get blocked in by other cars. The green link gate to the Wyllyotts car park will be open. Remember that parking restrictions apply until 6:30pm on the Saturday evening, please walk if possible.
