Light in our darkness
‘In switching on the light of the Nativity scene, we wish for the light of Christ to be in us. A Christmas without light is not Christmas. Let there be light in the soul, in the heart; let there be forgiveness to others; let there be no hostilities, which are dark. Let there be the beautiful light of Jesus. This is my wish for all of you, when you turn on the light of the crib.’ Pope Francis
Fr Shaun, Deacon Don, Francesca, Bernadette and Michael wish all parishioners a grace-filled Christmas and every blessing in the New Year.

CHRISTMAS EVE NATIVITY
For the 5pm Mass on Christmas Eve some children have volunteered to dramatise the Gospel and sing. ALL children are invited to come dressed as shepherds or angels. Please bring your child to the hall at 4.40pm where there will be some preparation activities for Mass. The children will then process in and sit in the centre of the church, joining their families at the end of Mass.
The church will be very full and so there is only a safe number of extra seats that we can put out. Scattered seats can be a hazard. If your child has difficulty in sitting on the floor please bring a small cushion or sit them on your lap at the front.
The traditional collection at the crib over the Christmas Season will be for the Catholic Children’s Society. Through their family centres this charity provides practical support, play opportunities and counselling for families in difficulties. They continue to work with many families following the Grenfell Tower fire, please be generous in your response.
CHRISTMAS OFFERINGS The offerings given at Christmas Masses form part of the taxable stipend for Fr Shaun. If you have Planned Giving envelopes, you will find an envelope for this purpose in your box. If you give by Standing Order or if you are not in the scheme there are envelopes for you to use (especially if you are going to be away over Christmas) in the narthex.
